The name Idisan is came from the term of the Ibaloi's which means to grind to make it fine. In their time Idisan is part of Tuba Benguet ruled by Mayor Joaquin Smith. The original Ibaloi families of Idisan are Luna, Oseo, Smith, Bugnay, Alvarez, Maganes, Binay-an, Coper, Dumong and others. One of the know person who lived in Idisan is Virginia Luna, she is the daughter of Catalino Pablo whose a carpenter. Virginia Luna didn't finish her study, she only finish high school but she has a communication skill. The first husband of Virginia Luna is Lopez Osea, but they get separated. The second husband of Virginia Luna is Felix Luna a pure ibaloi man, they have 9 children, 1 adopt and 1 step sister. Virginia Luna served as Barangay Captain in 1972 to 1988.
In Idisan, there were was also creek nearby where gold and lime could find(Apugan Today). The quarry was later bought by the Benguet Consulidated Inc (BCI). The lime quarry was a joint venture between an Ibaloi Felipe Bucay and the BCI.
Because of urbanization, the name Idisan is change into Irisan and it is divided into 33 purok. The place is getting improve, the place have national road already and the people starting to build schools. Irisan is the largest barangay in Baguio City.

Summary of Irisan
Before Irisan called Irisan, the first name that Ibaloi called is Idisan. Idisan is one of the place where the first Ibaloi lives, but years goes by the culture in Idisan are getting mix because of migrators in the lowlands.
